Aberdeen Standard appoint ESG Manager to its Private Markets and Real Estate team

Aberdeen Standard Investments (ASI) appoints Manuela Furmarola as ESG Manager to it s Private Markets and Real Estate team.

Neil Slater, Global Head of Real Estate and Deputy Head of Private Markets, said, “This is a key strategic area for our organisation and embedding a highly talented ESG team is critical for large private market players such as ASI.”

Manuela is responsible for developing, embedding and overseeing an ESG strategy for private markets investments, including private equity, infrastructure and private lending assets.

Manuela Fumarola commented, “This a great opportunity for me to draw on my ESG expertise in private markets and support ASI with its sustainable investing approach. I’m looking forward to working closely with the team to build a market-leading ESG strategy for ASI’s private markets function.”

Manuela will report to Dan Grandage, Head of ESG for Private Markets and Real Estate and will work closely with the existing Private Markets ESG team and the investment teams to provide insight on ESG trends, manager selection, and client ESG reporting activities.

Manuela joins ASI from M&G Investments where she worked as Private Equity Associate and led on the integration of ESG into the investment process.

Slater continued, “Manuela has demonstrated some impressive work with sound credentials and I’m confident she’ll play a pivotal role in supporting our team’s ESG strategy, and subsequently, our clients with their sustainable investing requirements.”
