Telecoms company Airtel Africa reported a sharp rise in third quarter jump in profit driven by strong revenue growth.
Pre-tax profit for the three months to December 31, 2021 rose 48.5% to $297m, with revenue up 21.7% to $3.4bn.

Underlying core earnings grew by a third to $1.7bn in reported currency with a margin of 48.8%, an increase of 326 basis points led by both revenue growth and improved operational efficiencies, Airtel said on Friday.

For the nine months to December 31, pre-tax profit soared 79.4% to $864m year-on-year as revenue grew 20% to $1.22bn.
