I believe that International Women’s Day is very important to the asset management industry (and, of course, broadly to everyone across the globe).
It is an opportunity for women to be re-energized about supporting one another, addressing any biases they may face and for celebrating our individual and collective successes.
Having a robust support system in all phases of a woman’s career is beneficial to one’s success and the International Women’s day helps remind us of the importance of being there for each other.
Do the best you can and don’t feel guilty. Particularly when juggling careers and family, finding balance can be very difficult (may seem like a fantasy!).
Trust that you will prioritize appropriately. Guilt, that you could have done more or that you missed out on something, can really wear you down. Finding mentors who can relate to what you are going through could be helpful.
