Pimlico Plumbers founder Charlie Mullins is reportedly looking to sell the business after 42 years.
According to Sky News, US provider of home services Neighborly, which is owned by private equity firm KKR, is among a number of parties that have expressed an interest in buying the group.
Sky reported that a private equity investor who had expressed an interest earlier in the sale process said on Wednesday that a sale of the business could be imminent, although they also cautioned that it was unclear whether Neighborly or another suitor would be the eventual buyer.
Previous reports have suggested that Mullins – known for his Rod Stewart-style blond barnet and outspoken comments on Brexit and vaccine passports – was likely to fetch around £100m after hiring advisers from Cavendish Corporate Finance to identify new investors.
