In this newly created role, Dominic will be responsible for driving the firm’s ETF product strategy and leading the expansion of the recently created ETF Strategy function. He brings with him over 17 years’ experience within the investment industry, seven of which focusing on ETF strategy and distribution.
Dominic joins from Invesco ETFs, formerly Source ETFs, where he headed the product engagement function. Prior to that, he held a number of roles within distribution at AXA Distribution Services and Fidelity International.

In 2020, HSBC Asset Management set out its strategy to re-position the business as a core solutions and specialist emerging markets, Asia and alternatives focused asset manager, with client centricity, investment excellence and sustainable investing as key enablers. Growing its ETF range, particularly in areas such as ESG, Asia and fixed income, is one of the firms’ strategic growth initiatives. The firm currently manages USD86 billion in passive strategies and USD 13.1 billion in ETF strategies.

This follows HSBC Asset Management’s CEO Nicolas Moreau’s recent reflections on Q4 2020, in which he said he’d “seen incredibly strong performance across our asset management business. Overall, we added over USD100bn of new assets in 2020. Our AUM stands at USD612bn as of 31 December 2020, up from USD516bn in 2019. A large part of this increase is from the net new money (USD 55bn) that we’ve received from you, our clients”.
