FTSE 100 movers: IAG flies higher; Vodafone slumps

by | Feb 24, 2021

London’s FTSE 100 was up 0.1% at 6,634.83 in afternoon trade on Wednesday.
British Airways and Iberia parent IAG and GKN owner Melrose Industries were both higher amid expectations that travel will pick up in the coming months.

Shopping centre owners Land Securities and British Land were also up as non-essential stores in England are set to reopen in April.

Defence contractor BAE Systems was in the black ahead of its full-year results on Thursday

On the downside, Vodafone slumped after announcing plans to float its European tower infrastructure company, Vantage Towers, on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange before the end of March.

Reckitt Benckiser was also on the back foot despite posting a surge in full-year revenues as demand for cleaning and hygiene products spiked during the Covid-19 pandemic.
