FTSE 250 movers: Aston Martin falls on CFO departure; Workspace rises

by | Dec 2, 2021

London’s FTSE 250 was 1% lower at 22,694.61 in afternoon trade on Thursday.

Aston Martin Lagonda fell after it said Kenneth Gregor will step down as chief financial officer and as an executive director no later than 30 June 2022, for personal reasons.

Financial services platform AJ Bell slumped even after it lifted its dividend and announced a special payout to shareholders as it increased annual profits by 13%.

Going the other way, Auction Technology rallied after it said full-year results were ahead of expectations, with revenue up 34%.

Workspace gained after an upgrade to ‘buy’ from ‘neutral’ at Bank of America Merrill Lynch.

Outsourcer Serco was in the black despite warning of lower revenue and profit in 2022, as it expects “a rapid wind-down” of Covid-19 related services supplied to governments during the first half of next year.

Shopping centre owner Hammerson also advanced after it forecast an increase in annual earnings.
