by | Feb 18, 2021

London’s FTSE 250 was down 1% at 20,944.07 in afternoon trade on Thursday.
Grainger fell after the residential landlord said Robert Hudson had been nominated to take over as chief financial officer later this year.

Indivior was also in the red after the opioid addiction treatment maker plunged to an annual loss as its Suboxone drug lost market share and the company settled litigation related to the US opioid crisis.

Carnival was weaker after saying that its P&O Cruises Australia division was “maintaining its optimism” for the ultimate restart of cruising despite extending its current operational pause to departures on or before 18 June.

Moneysupermarket was the top riser on the index even as the price comparison website reported a drop in full-year profit as revenues, in particular in the travel businesses, were hit by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Broker Liberum said the results were in line with its recently-downgraded numbers.

Premier Foods was also in the black after saying it had repaid a further £30m of its senior secured floating rate notes thanks to a period of continued “strong trading performance” and cash generation.
