FTSE 250 movers: Playtech plunges; Greencore boosted by broker changes

by | May 11, 2021

London’s FTSE 250 was down 2.5% at 22,128.22 in afternoon trade on Tuesday.
Gambling software company Playtech and Dr Martens were the worst performers.

On the upside, Helios Towers was a high riser after the telecommunications infrastructure group said it had agreed to buy 2,890 sites from Oman-based mobile network operator Omantel for $575m.

The company said it made the move as part of an effort to establish its presence in “one of the fastest-growing markets” in the Middle-East, with the assets expected to deliver revenues of $59.0m and adjusted underlying earnings of $40.0m in the first full year of operations.

UK supermarket Morrisons gained as it reported a rise in first-quarter sales and reiterated guidance for higher full-year profits and reduced debt as the economy rebounded from the Covid-19 pandemic.

Irish convenience food group Greencore was also in the black after both Barclays and HSBC upped their price targets on the shares.
