London’s FTSE 250 was up 1.1% at 21,850.98 in afternoon trade on Tuesday.
Travel-related shares were among the top performers following heavy losses in the previous session, with budget airline Wizz Air, Upper Crust owner SSP and travel firm Tui all higher.
On the downside, online trading platform Plus500 slumped after it reported a decline in full-year profit and revenue.
In the year to the end of December 2021, revenue declined 18% from the previous year to $718.7m, while earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation were down 25% at $387.1m. On a two-year basis, however, EBITDA was up 101% and revenue 103%.
The number of new customers fell 33% to 196, 336 and active customer numbers were down 6% to 407, 374.
Gold miners Centamin and Endeavour Mining also fell, having rallied on Monday as gold prices jumped amid worries about Russia-Ukraine tensions.
