Home emergency repairs and improvements company Homeserve has appointed Tommy Breen as its new chairman with effect from 19 May.
Breen, who was chief executive of sales, marketing and support services group DCC until 2017, succeeds Barry Gibson, who has served as chairman since 2010.

Homeserve said Breen brings “an extensive track record of delivering sustainable growth in a diverse, international business, both organically and by acquisition”. He is currently senior independent director of packaging and distribution group Essentra.

Founder and chief executive Richard Harpin said: “I look forward to working with Tommy as we continue our quest to make home repairs and improvements easy, for homeowners and trades. Barry has chaired Homeserve with dedication and skill, and I want to take this opportunity to thank him for his outstanding contribution. In Tommy, we have found a strong successor.”
