Sports Direct’s Mike Ashley to take on deputy chairman role at Frasers

Sports Direct chief executive Mike Ashley was said to be preparing to assume the role of deputy chairman at Frasers Group.
With Ashley moving on after almost 40 years at the helm, he will hand over control of the sportswear retailer to his future son-in-law Michael Murray, the firm’s current “head of elevation”.

An announcement on the future of both group’s boardrooms was expected to come alongside Sport’s Directs results on Thursday.
