Financial markets’ focus on Thursday will be on a raft of survey results regarding manufacturing sector conditions around the world.
First out, overnight, will be survey compiler Caixin’s China Purchasing Managers Index for June.
Also due out overnight is the Bank of Japan’s quarterly Tankan business confidence survey.
At 0900 BST, IHS Markit will publish its own PMIs for the main euro area economies, followed half an hour later by its UK PMI.
A comparable PMI is due out later in the US, at 1500, courtesy of the Institute for Supply Management.
All of the surveys are expected to show that activity continued to grow at a brisk clip in June, save the Tankan, which analysts anticipate will reveal a sharp pick up in versus the first quarter.
Initial weekly jobless claims figures in the US are also scheduled for release, at 1330 BST.
Across the Channel, European Central Bank boss, Christine Lagarde is due to speak before the European Parliament’s Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs.
Rate-setters in Sweden will also be meeting with the consensus expecting that they will keep their main policy interest rate at 0.0%.
That announcement is due out at 0830 BST.
