All eyes on Thursday were expected to be on the US where the Department of Labor was set to release its report for consumer prices covering the month of September.
Economists had penciled-in a dip in the annual rate of increase in headline CPI from August’s clip of 8.3% to 8.1%.
Excluding food and energy, or at the so-called core level, CPI was seen picking up from 6.3% to 6.5%.
In parallel, also at 1330 BST, Labor was also due to publish its latest weekly unemployment claims data.
Across the Channel, at 0700 BST the German ministry of finance was due to release a final reading for consumer prices during the month of September.
It was due to be followed by CPI data for Ireland and Portugal at 1100 BST.
On home shores, overnight the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors would release its house price balance for the month of September (consensus: 46.0).
