Wednesday preview: UK consumer credit, Wizz Air in focus

by | Jun 1, 2021

Investors’ focus in the middle of the week will be on UK consumer credit and mortgage lending data for April.

Across the Channel, the spotlight will be on two speeches by European Central Bank boss, Christine Lagarde, at the Green Swan conference and at the Turgot prize awards ceremony.

US vehicles sales data for May meanwhile are expected to reveal a decline from the 18.51m pace hit during the previous month to 17.95m.

On the corporate side of things, for Wizz Air Holdings’s full-year results, UBS’s Jarrod Castle has penciled in sales of 702m, versus consensus at 710m.

Losses before interest and taxes meanwhile are expected to come in just shy of the consensus at -471m.

“Manufacturing activity in the US accelerated further last month, according to the results of one of the most closely-followed surveys for the sector,” Castle added.
