Financial markets’ focus over the coming week will be on a slew of survey results on services sector activity from around the developed world for the month of June.
The surveys, including that for the UK, will be released on Monday.
And while those for the euro area are expected to reveal a modest slowdown in activity when compared to the previous month, consensus is that UK services activity in fact accelerated a bit.
The other key release of the week won’t arrive until Friday, when China’s National Bureau of Statistics will publish a reading on consumer price data for June.
On the central bank front, on Wednesday the US Federal Reserve will release the minutes of the Federal Open Market Committee’s June policy meeting, which are likely to be closely scrutinised given the changes in the outlook that were formulated at that gathering.
They will be preceded by an interest decision from the Reserve Bank of Australia, on Tuesday.
On home shores meanwhile, and also on Friday, the Office for National Statistics will release GDP data for May.
June house price surveys from Halifax and the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors will be released on Wednesday and Thursday, respectively.
To take note of, US financial markets will remain closed on Monday in observance of the 4 July holiday.
