The spotlight in financial markets is expected to continue to be on US inflation readings, in particular, although a myriad of key reports and policy decisions are also due throughout the week.
Multiple first-tier US economic data are also scheduled for release at the end of the week, with some analysts arguing that the PCE price deflator data due out on Friday will be the key release to watch for.
Amid a backdrop of fast rising prices, a raft of US housing data out on Tuesday may also garner investors’ attention.
Multiple US Treasury debt auctions will also take place throughout the week, including for notes maturing in five and seven years, on Wednesday and Thursday, respectively.
It is against that backdrop that policymakers at multiple central banks in Asia-Pacific will meet to decide on rates, including those at the Bank of Indonesia, Reserve Bank of New Zealand and Bank of Korea, starting from Tuesday.
A raft of economic indicators are also due out in Japan, on Friday.
Worth noting, Covid-19 flare ups had dampened growth expectations in some parts of Asia, Barclays Research said.
On home shores, public sector net borrowing figures for April will be forthcoming on Tuesday, followed by the Nationwide house price index on Friday.
Japanese exports meanwhile were being held back by shortages of semiconductors.
Bank of England Governor, Andrew Bailey, will deliver a speech on Monday, at 1900 BST.
Across the Channel, the German IFO business confidence index will come out on Tuesday, followed by the GfK consumer index for that same country on Thursday.
The World Economic Forum will kick off on Tuesday, from Singapore.
