The coming holiday-shortened week is likely to be focused on the next monthly non-farm payrolls reports in the States, with any upside surprise versus economists’ forecasts likely to be very well received by investors.
Consensus is for net job gains of 655,000 in March following the 379,000 increase seen during the prior month.
Investors will also be keeping close tabs on another raft of manufacturing sector survey results for March, especially those for China and the US, both of which are due out on Thursday.
Across the Channel, the spotlight is likely to be on unemployment and retail sales figures for Germany referencing the month of February.
Those reports are scheduled for release on Wednesday and Thursday, respectively.
On home shores, personal lending and money supply data for February will be published on Monday, followed by IHS Markit’s UK factory sector Purchasing Managers’ Index for March on Thursday.
