The US non-farm payrolls report will be the centre of attention over the coming sessions as at the start of each month.
Consensus is for the pace of hiring to have picked up from 850,000 in June to 900,000 for July.
Nevertheless, many economists point out that even with such outsized increases, the US jobs market will still have a ways to go before it returns to how it was before the pandemic.
But the economic calendar will be laden with key economic reports in other geographies too.
On Monday, a raft of manufacturing sector Purchasing Managers Indices are due out in the UK, US and euro area.
They will be followed by another barrage of PMIs, but for the services sector, on Wednesday.
It is against that backdrop that on Thursday rate-setters at the Bank of England will meet to decide on policy.
Further afield, policymakers at the Reserve Bank of Australia will announce their interest rate decision on Tuesday.
