Workspace Group names Leo Shapland as head of portfolio management

Real estate investment trust Workspace Group revealed on Wednesday that Leo Shapland had been appointed as the company’s new head of portfolio management, effective from 21 March.
Workspace stated Shapland joins the firm from Aviva Investors, where he was head of real estate asset management, responsible for financial performance and strategy of the UK portfolio and real estate business.

Prior to that, he spent nearly ten years at Tishman Speyer, holding a number of roles in leasing, asset management, acquisitions and development in the firm’s London, San Francisco and Seattle offices.

Chief executive Graham Clemett said: “We are delighted to welcome Leo to Workspace. He brings with him a wealth of experience in commercial property and managing office portfolios. With strong customer demand for our flexible offer positioning us well to deliver our ambitious growth plans, this is an exciting time for Workspace and we look forward to Leo joining the team.”

As of 0855 GMT, Workspace shares were up 1.79% at 652.50p.
