Sarasin & Partners makes key charity appointments

Sarasin & Partners, the global thematic investment manager which invests £18.8 billion* on behalf of charities, private clients, intermediaries and institutions, has appointed Tom Santa-Olalla as Senior Associate Partner and Hector McLean as Investment Manager in the charities team. 

Tom Santa-Olalla joins from Close Brothers Asset Management where he spent six years and was most recently a senior investment specialist. Prior to this, Santa-Olalla worked at HSBC Private Bank advising high and ultra-high-net-worth individuals across all facets of wealth management. He is a Chartered Wealth Manager and Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investments. 

Additionally, Hector McLean joins Sarasin & Partners having spent three years at Cantab Asset Management, providing investment management and financial planning services to Cantab’s private client base. 

The new appointments follow the recent announcement that the business has made key hires within the investment team including multi-asset Fund Manager Alastair Baker, Head of Investment Risk Cédric Phounpadith and Senior Investment Manager Edward Lloyd.
