London’s FTSE 250 was steady at 22,909.49 in afternoon trade on Monday.
Review platform Trustpilot was the standout gainer after it reiterated its full-year guidance and said it expects to report a 31% jump in first-half revenue.
Chief executive Peter Holten Mühlmann commented: “Trustpilot provides the ‘trust layer’ for the open commerce ecosystem, giving consumers the confidence to purchase goods and services online, while offering businesses the opportunity to establish trust and thrive. We are encouraged by the progress we have made in the first half of the year and the board remains confident in the strategy and outlook for the business.”
Payments technology group Network International was also in the black as Citi reiterated its ‘buy’ recommendation on the shares. “Conditions for international card spend appear to have tightened recently, while new opportunities around domestic card spend are emerging,” the bank said.
“At the same time, the local competitive landscape appears to be stabilising. While Network’s stock price has underperformed global payments and MENA financials/tech peers, we see several upcoming catalysts likely driving positive share price performance.”
Online trading platform Plus500 rose even as it reported a drop in first-half revenues and customer income as the market environment stabilised following a period of high volatility after the pandemic hit.
Going the other way, travel and leisure stocks were weaker amid worries about Covid-19, with Cineworld, easyJet, Wetherspoons and WH Smith all in the red.
