FTSE 250 movers: Ferrexpo goes ex-div; Cineworld rises on results

The FTSE 250 was down 0.1% at 23,745.96 in afternoon trade on Thursday.
Ferrexpo, Jupiter Fund Management, Direct Line and Domino’s were all weaker as they traded without entitlement to the dividend.

Financial services firm Just Group was in red after saying it had fallen to an interim pre-tax loss as rising interest rates offset growth in adjusted operating profits. The company posted a first-half pre-tax loss of ยฃ87.0m, compared to a ยฃ305.0m profit in the same period a year ago.

Cineworld gained after it posted an interim operating loss of $208.9m as the Covid pandemic forced the closure of cinemas in the opening months of the year and a limited number of films were produced, but said trading since reopening had been “encouraging”.

The cinema chain also said it was considering a listing of itself or a partial listing of its movie chain Regal in the US, its biggest market.
