FTSE 250 movers: Petropavlovsk in the red; Cineworld surges

London’s FTSE 250 was down 0.5% at 23,772.65 in afternoon trade on Wednesday.
Petropavlovsk, JTC and Syncona all lost ground.

Going the other way, reopening stock Cineworld surged to the top of the index. Traders pointed to relief that no further restrictions have been announced for England this week.

Retailer Marks & Spencer was also in the black, perhaps boosted by the latest figures from Kantar, which showed that UK supermarkets became popular once again as sales their highest level since March 2020 over Christmas.
