London’s FTSE 250 was down 0.8% at 20,540.01 in afternoon trade on Tuesday.
Auction Technology was lifted by an upgrade to ‘overweight’ from ‘neutral’ at JPMorgan Cazenove, which upped its price target to 1,150p from 1,041p.
Energean gushed higher after saying it had signed a new gas sales and purchase agreement for its Israeli gas assets, and confirming that the vessel for its key Karish project has left the yard in Singapore.
Berenberg reiterated its ‘buy’ rating on the stock and said: “Overall, we regard today’s announcement as positive, providing more certainty on contracted volumes from the Karish development and reassuring that a key milestone in the timeline to first gas has been reached.”
Mitie Group gained after the outsourcer agreed to buy 8point8, a provider of design and construction services in the UK, predominantly for mobile telecoms tower infrastructure, for £10m.
