FTSE 100 movers: Miners rally; Barratt in the red

London’s FTSE 100 was up 0.6% at 7,555.33 in afternoon trade on Tuesday.
Miners were on the rise after well-received results from BHP, with Glencore, Rio Tinto, Anglo American and Antofagasta all higher.

BHP posted a large jump in annual profits on the back of soaring coal prices and said it would return almost $9bn to shareholders.

RS Group – formerly Electrocomponents – gave back some gains, having rallied on Monday following a report it could be in line for a ยฃ15 a share takeover bid.

Barratt Developments was also in the red even as the Competition and Markets Authority said it was dropping its alleged leasehold mis-selling investigation into the housebuilder.
