UK’s CMA drops probe into Mitie over detention centre contracts

Britain’s competition regulator has dropped a probe into outsourcer Mitie over a procurement process for immigration removal centre contracts run by the Home Office, the company said on Wednesday.

The Competition and Markets Authority in March launched an investigation into “suspected anticompetitive conduct” related to the process to find firms to operate certain services at the Heathrow and Derwentside immigration removal centres.
