FTSE 250 movers: Ultra Electronics slumps; Softcat rallies

London’s FTSE 250 was down 0.3% at 22,577.26 in afternoon trade on Monday.
Ultra Electronics slumped after the aerospace and defence group said it had terminated “very early stages” of exploratory talks with Cobham about a possible combination of some of their units. The shares rallied sharply on Friday on news of a possible deal.

Budget airlines Wizz Air and easyJet and travel company Tui all lost ground German Chancellor Angela Merkel attempts to secure an EU-wide quarantine policy for British tourists.

IT infrastructure and services provider Softcat was among the top gainers as Barclays reiterated its ‘overweight’ rating on the shares and lifted the price target to 1,950p from 1,800p.

Hiscox was also in the black after the insurer reached an agreement with the Hiscox Action Group over business interruption losses caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.
