Pacific Asset Management (Pacific) today announces the appointment of Paul Allison and Preston Park from Border to Coast Pension Partnership to its North American equities team as senior analysts. The pair are set to start in August this year.
Paul will focus on financials, industrials and portfolio strategy, while Preston will cover TMT, consumer and healthcare sectors. In these new roles, they will work alongside and report to John Feeley, fund manager, Pacific North American Opportunities Fund.
Their appointments add significant experience across US equities, portfolio construction and fundamental research, strengthening Pacificโs investment capabilities as it continues to expand its North American equities platform.
Paul Allison joins with more than two decades of buy-side investment experience across major institutional investment organisations. Most recently, he served as portfolio manager for US equities at Border to Coast Pension Partnership, where he was responsible for the c. $5bn AUM US equity sleeve within the firmโs Overseas Developed Fund. Prior to this, he held senior portfolio management roles at Fideuram Asset Management, Tesco Pension Investment and BAE Systems Pension Fund.
Preston Park also joins from Border to Coast Pension Partnership, where he co-managed a US quality equity portfolio on behalf of one of the UKโs largest asset owners. Prior to this, he was a senior analyst at Findlay Park, where he identified high-conviction investment opportunities as a generalist across multiple sectors.
The appointments form part of Pacificโs strategy to evolve and grow its North American equity offering. They follow the appointment of John Feeley in February, who joined Pacific from Findlay Park to lead development of the firmโs North American franchise. John was previously deputy chief investment officer at Findlay Park, with joint responsibility for an US$11 billion US equities fund.
John Feeley, Fund Manager, Pacific North American Opportunities strategy, said:
โWe are delighted to welcome Paul and Preston to the team. Both bring exceptional investment experience, strong analytical capabilities and a deep understanding of US and global equity markets. Their appointments further enhance the breadth and depth of our expertise as we continue to build-out our specialist North American equities platform and deliver long-term value for clients.โ
Paul Allison, senior analyst at Pacific Asset Management, said:
โIโm excited to be joining Pacific at such an important stage in its development. The firmโs powerful technology infrastructure which supports focused, craft investment management was an incredibly attractive proposition. I look forward to joining John and contributing to the team to deliver positive outcomes for our investors.โ
Preston Park, senior analyst at Pacific Asset Management, added:
โPacific has built a compelling investment platform and culture, focused on high-quality, hard-to-industrialise investment strategies. The opportunity to join Pacific alongside Paul and help John continue to build a leading US equities proposition was too good to miss.โ
