WisdomTree Launches Space Economy UCITS ETF

The ETF launch comes amid growing investor attention on the commercialisation of space and the expected SpaceX IPO next week

WisdomTree has today announced the launch of the WisdomTree Space Economy UCITS ETF (WSPC), providing diversified exposure to companies driving the development of the global space economy and its further commercialisation. The ETF seeks to track the price and yield performance, before fees and expenses, of the WisdomTree Space Economy UCITS Index (the โ€œIndexโ€) and has a Total Expense Ratio (TER) of 0.50%. WSPC is listed today on Xetra, Borsa Italiana, Euronext Paris and SIX Swiss Exchange, and will list on the London Stock Exchange on 5 June 2026.

The proprietary index is designed to track the performance of companies involved in activities that form the Space Economy. These activities include enabling access to space and supporting space operations through launch, orbital and deep-space infrastructure; delivering commercial space-based services and connectivity; providing defence solutions that protect national interests in and through space; developing emerging space-focused and space-enabled technologies.

The WisdomTree Space Economy UCITS ETF provides exposure to the space economy across four key verticals: launches and infrastructure, commercial space, defence space and emerging technologies. The Index selects and weights companies based on their relevance to the space economy, applying a proprietary framework that combines thematic and company-level scoring to prioritise firms and verticals most relevant for further development and commercialisation of the field. This approach aims to deliver a dynamic and forward-looking exposure, with quarterly rebalancing ensuring the portfolio remains aligned with the most relevant opportunities as the theme evolves.

Pierre Debru, Head of Research, Europe, WisdomTree, said: โ€œSpace is transitioning from a niche, government-led domain into a broader economic ecosystem with expanding commercial and strategic importance. A defining milestone in this shift could come with the SpaceX IPO, which is widely expected to attract unprecedented investor attention and further accelerate mainstream participation in the space economy. This ETF is designed to capture that transformation through a diversified and forward-looking approach to investing in the space economy.โ€

The investment case for the space economy is being driven by a powerful convergence of technological innovation, falling launch costs, expanding commercial use cases, and renewed government ambition. Once limited largely to government-led missions, space is evolving into a broader commercial ecosystem spanning launches and enabling infrastructure, connectivity, data services, defence applications and next-generation technologies. As launch systems become more efficient and access costs decline, the opportunity set is expanding across the value chain, creating new pathways for both established aerospace companies and specialised innovators.

At the same time, space-enabled services such as earth observation, geospatial intelligence, navigation and communications are becoming increasingly integrated into the real economy, supporting industries ranging from agriculture and logistics to climate monitoring and critical infrastructure. Emerging applications, including in-orbit manufacturing, servicing and space-based data infrastructure, are also opening new markets and reinforcing the long-term growth potential of the theme.

Alexis Marinof, CEO, Europe, WisdomTree, added: โ€œSince launching our first thematic ETF in 2018, we have focused on developing differentiated strategies that provide investors with targeted exposure to transformative long-term themes that can add value to portfolios. This new ETF builds on our established thematic capabilities, providing a transparent and research-driven approach to access one of the most exciting frontiers of innovation. It also reinforces our commitment to offering investors a broad range of research-driven thematic exposures that can help meet evolving portfolio objectives.โ€

WisdomTree now manages $10.9bn[1] across 19 thematic ETFs listed across Europe. In 2026, WisdomTree has seen $3.3bn[2] of net inflows across its thematic ETF range, driven by $1.4bn for WisdomTree Europe Defence UCITS ETF (WDEF) and $863m for WisdomTree Strategic Metals and Rare Earth Miners UCITS ETF (RARE).
