CMC Markets, a FTSE 250 company and global multi-asset financial services firm, has broadened access to US markets through expanded trading hours across its trading and investing offering.
The expansion means more than 5,000 US shares and ETFs are now available for 24/5 trading, where overnight pricing is available, alongside the introduction of extended-hours trading for investors using CMC Invest.
Together, these enhancements extend the available US trading day from 6.5 hours to up to 16 hours, giving traders and investors greater flexibility to respond to earnings announcements, company news and global market events as they unfold.
The launch reflects growing demand for greater access to global markets beyond traditional trading hours, as investors increasingly seek the flexibility to respond when markets move.
It forms part of CMC Markets’ continued investment in delivering a more connected multi-asset experience, broadening access to global markets through a simpler and more flexible client offering.
“US markets are increasingly driven by events that take place outside the traditional trading session, whether that’s corporate earnings, economic data or geopolitical developments. Expanding our trading hours gives clients more opportunity to react when markets move, rather than waiting for the next session to open.
“Bringing together 24/5 trading and extended-hours investing gives clients a more seamless way to access US markets, whether they’re actively trading or building long-term positions.”
Vaughn Affonso, Co-Head of Dealing at CMC Markets
“Expanding access to US markets across both trading and investing reflects the direction of travel for CMC Markets as we continue to evolve our multi-asset offering.
โOur focus is on simplifying how clients access financial markets, giving them the flexibility to trade in the way that suits them. Expanding 24/5 access is an important step in that journey as we continue to broaden market access and evolve towards an increasingly connected, always-on trading experience.”
Laurence Booth, Global Head of Markets, CMC Markets
The launch follows the recent introduction of fractional investing, extending CMC Markets’ investment in its trading and investing offering.
