Artemis has added to its SmartGARP investment team with the appointment of analyst Laura Corbetta.
Corbetta joins from River Global Investors, where she spent five years as a quantitative researcher. She also has previous experience with Natixis and the London Stock Exchange Group.
A Chartered Financial Analyst, Corbetta has worked across equity, multi-asset and loan sectors during her 10-year investment career. She becomes the fifth member of the SmartGARP team, joining portfolio managers Philip Wolstencroft and Raheel Altaf, analyst Aalok Sathe and investment director and analyst Harry Eastwood.
Wolstencroft, who created the SmartGARP process 25 years ago, said: “We’re very pleased to welcome Laura to Artemis. She brings a wealth of experience in quantitative research, which will complement that of our strong and experienced team.
“This will help us to continue developing the SmartGARP range to meet existing and future demand from clients. The funds have all delivered strong returns, with portfolios that are very differentiated from their benchmarks.”
Artemis manages around £5.8 billion across the SmartGARP funds, which use a proprietary systematic investment process built on robust datasets.
Two new strategies, the Artemis SmartGARP Global Smaller Companies Fund and the Artemis SmartGARP Pan-European Equity Fund, a Luxembourg-based SICAV, were recently launched.
They join the Artemis SmartGARP UK Equity Fund, the Artemis SmartGARP European Equity Fund, the Artemis SmartGARP Global Equity Fund, the Artemis SmartGARP Global Emerging Equity Markets Fund and the Artemis (Lux) SmartGARP Global Emerging Markets Equity Fund (SICAV).
