Customers of a number of high street banks were reportedly experiencing difficulties with their apps on Friday morning, although it was not immediately clear where the issue lay.
According to City AM, customers were having problems with the banking apps from HSBC, Santander UK and TSB, with some reportedly being completely locked out.
Online service quality and complaints monitor Downdetector showed hundreds of complaints for each of the banks from 0600 BST onwards.
In a tweet to a customer, Santander UK said the card payment service on its app was “currently unavailable”, but said that it was “working hard” to restore the feature.
A spokesperson for TSB suggested its problems were not with the bank, however, telling City AM that the issue was with internet providers.
