FE fundinfo reveals 2025 Alpha Manager Awards nomineesĀ

FE fundinfo announces the nominees of its annual Alpha Manager Awards. The prestigious awards showcase and celebrate exceptional fund managers who are leaders in the industry, delivering above benchmark alpha returns for clients. The awards look across a fund manager’s career, including all funds they have managed and businesses they’ve worked for.Ā

FE fundinfo has chosen 60 nominees over 12 categories for its 2025 awards based on their Alpha Manager rating. This score means they are among the top 10% of managers overseeing funds for UK-based retail investors, with the top five highest scoring managers in each asset class category being nominated. Award winners are decided by FE fundinfo’s analyst team and will be announced on 17 June.

Alpha Manager of the Year

The nominees for Alpha Manager of the Year have been named as John Warren from Premier Miton, David J. Eiswert from T. Rowe Price and Robin Parbrook from Schroders. Joining them on the shortlist are Jeroen Brand from Neuberger Berman and Jonathan Golan from Man Group, nominee and winner respectively in last year’s Best New Alpha Manager category.

Best New Alpha Managers

A key part of the awards is recognising upcoming talent, with a separate category, ā€˜Best New Alpha Manager’, for Alpha Managers who have been rated for the first time in 2025.

This year’s nominees include James Macdonald and Sid Chhabra, both from BlueBay, alongside John H. Fogarty and Vinay Thapar from AllianceBernstein. They are joined by Sashi Reddy from Stewart Investors and Patrick Kelly from Alger.

Global Developed Equities

David J. Eiswert and Scott Berg, both from T. Rowe Price, and Sid Jain, Sudarshan Murthy, Brian Kersmanc and Rajiv Jain, from GQG, are among this year’s nominees for the Global Equities category. They are joined by James Thomson and Sammy Dow from Rathbones, and Stephen Yiu from Blue Whale.

Charles Younes, Deputy Chief Investment Officer, FE fundinfo, said: ā€œThis year’s Alpha Manager Awards reflect a remarkable consistency in manager performance. This was despite 2024 being an extremely challenging year for active management, especially within fixed income, where no bond strategies achieved standout returns and little dispersion in equity markets. Even in this tough environment, our Alpha Manager nominees were consistent in delivering returns throughout the period, with many returning nominees maintaining strong risk-adjusted returns across their portfolios.

ā€œBeing shortlisted for the Alpha Manager Awards is a major achievement, which reflects a fund manager’s long-term success and outperformance of market benchmarks. We congratulate all nominees and wish them luck ahead of the award announcement later this month.ā€
