Friday preview: UK retail sales, public sector net borrowing in focus

(Sharecast News) – The financial market spotlight would shift back towards the UK at the end of the week.
At 0700 BST the Office for National Statistics was due to publish figures for retail sales and public sector net borrowing, both covering the month of June.

Consensus was for the former to show a 0.2% gain month-on-month, while the latter was expected to reveal that borrowing increased to a pace of £22bn .

But first, data for the month of June were due out overnight covering Japanese consumer prices, excluding fresh food and energy.
