FTSE 250 movers: Wood Group loses ground; Elementis rallies

London’s FTSE 250 was down 0.1% at 22,076.70 in afternoon trade on Thursday.
Wood Group was lower following a trading statement, while residential landlord Grainger also lost ground despite maintaining its dividend, reporting an increase in profit and predicting a strengthening rental market.

On the upside, NCC was the standout gainer after announcing the planned acquisition of intellectual property management business Iron Mountain for $220m (ยฃ156m).

Specialty chemicals company Elementis also rallied as it said its full-year performance is set to be towards the top end of consensus expectations amid an improvement in demand. Current market forecasts are for 2021 adjusted operating profit of between $92m and $103m.
