(Sharecast News) – GameStop announced on Thursday that it has appointed billionaire Ryan Cohen as president and chief executive officer with immediate effect.
In a very brief statement, the video game retailer said Cohen won’t be receiving any compensation for his work as president, CEO or chairman.
In June, the meme stock fired chief executive Matthew Furlong and made Cohen executive chairman.
Cohen is currently the biggest shareholder in GameStop, with a 12% interest.
