Heathrow passenger numbers rose in August but remained below pre-pandemic levels.
Figures released on Monday by Heathrow showed that 6 million people travelled through the London airport, up from 2.2m in August last year.
Still, this was below the 7.7m passengers recorded in August 2019, before the pandemic hit.
On 12 July, Heathrow imposed a daily passenger cap of 100,000 after overcrowding and staff shortages led to long waits at security, lost luggage and cancelled flights. The cap was recently extended until the end of October.
