Janus Henderson is today announcing the appointment of Patrick Sanderson as Head of UK Client Group. Based in London, Patrick will join the firm on 18 March 2024 and report to Ignacio De La Maza, Head of EMEA & LatAm Client Group.
In this newly created role, Patrick will lead the firmโs intermediary and institutional distribution efforts in the UK, as well as UK consultant relations, and will be responsible for the overall direction and strategy of the UK business.
Patrick brings a wealth of experience having joined Janus Henderson from Ninety One where he was Head of Business Development, UK. There he was responsible for sales and client management within the institutional and wholesale teams in addition to consultant relations for the firmโs UK business. Prior to that he led the UK and Ireland sales and relationship management teams at Royal Bank of Canada, and has previously held roles at JP Morgan, Citibank and Deutsche Bank. Before he entered the world of financial services, Patrick played professional rugby and captained the England team between 2001 and 2005.
Patrickโs appointment follows a number of recent senior hires to Janus Hendersonโs distribution teams, demonstrating the firmโs commitment to adding top talent to its workforce to deliver for its clients across the globe. In November 2022, Janus Henderson announced it had hired Michael Schweitzer to head up the North America Client Group, in December 2023, the firm appointed Marwan AlSaleh as Senior Adviser to its business in the Middle East, in January 2024, the firm strengthened its presence in Latin America with the appointment of Christian Constandse who leads the firmโs sales efforts in Mexico, and most recently, in February 2024, the firm announced that it had bolstered its Australian intermediary team with the hire of Adam Cassidy as Retail Sales Director.
Ignacio De La Maza, Head of EMEA & LatAm Client Group at Janus Henderson, said:
โJanus Henderson has been putting clients first for 90 years and Patrickโs appointment reinforces this client-centric culture. His deep understanding of the UK market, extensive experience of leading large distribution teams and proven track record of driving customer-focused initiatives have consistently helped clients to navigate the evolving asset management landscape. His background in professional rugby brings a fresh perspective and a core set of invaluable skills: teamwork, operating in high-performance environments and delivering under pressure, and I am thrilled that Patrick will be bringing these talents to our firm.โreed
