Netwealth passes milestone £1bn assets under management

Netwealth has passed the key milestone of £1 billion in assets under management with momentum continuing into 2025. The company secured £1 billion under management in December and has seen its strong performance continue into 2025, reporting 40% compound annual growth (CAGR) in AUM over the last six years. The firm, led by founder and CEO, Charlotte Ransom and chaired by Edward Bonham Carter, has achieved this growth entirely through organic growth since its launch in May 2016.

Netwealth has been the pioneer of genuinely hybrid wealth management, providing both a fully online service, as well as in-person access to advisers and professional financial planning, as desired. This advice can also be dialled up or down according to clients’ preferences, supported by powerful proprietary technology.

The firm’s accessible and technologically-enabled offering has attracted clients with average portfolio holdings of £446,000 despite much lower minimum investment thresholds than usually required for wealth management services. The cost of full service for an average client[1], including ongoing financial planning advice, is as low as 1.25% per annum and has proved to be attractive across a range of demographics: almost half (47%) of clients are female and 44% of clients are below the age of 50. The average age of a Netwealth client is 52.

The distinctive ‘Netwealth Network’ is used by more than three quarters of Netwealth clients (78%). The Network allows clients to invite up to nine people to benefit from the wealth management service, while each member remains an independent client. Fees are calculated on the total amount invested by all members in the Network, helping to reach the lowest fee levels more quickly, as well as reducing the minimum investment criteria from £50k to £5k. The Network scheme makes wealth management more accessible to more people, driving economies of scale, notably within families and across the generational spectrum.

Charlotte Ransom, Chief Executive Officer at Netwealth, said:

“Passing £1 billion in assets under management has been a key milestone for Netwealth. I’m delighted so many clients, with significantly varying levels of wealth and financial sophistication, are recognising that it is now possible to access directly comparable wealth management advice and investment services for dramatically lower cost and much improved control and insight.

“Our comprehensive offering, typically for UK clients with investible assets of anywhere from £50k to £5m, is proving increasingly attractive. Our portfolios have delivered excellent returns of up to 8.6% per annum, net of all fees. Meanwhile, and crucially, all-in annual fees are often at least 1% lower than comparable services. These cost savings have helped our clients to reach their financial goals faster, safe in the knowledge that they can access our expert financial planning advisers when they want and in the form they would like.”

Netwealth has raised a total of £56.6m to date with a number of high-profile shareholders such as Sir Harvey McGrath, Lord Michael Spencer, Lord Stuart Rose, Dame Alison Carnwath and Bruce Carnegie-Brown.

Netwealth has also recently completed its move to new headquarters in Bloomsbury, central London.
