Rathbones Asset Management Ltd (RAM) announces the appointments of Steve Armitage, Sam Collett and Tom Hobbs to its distribution team.
With Steve Armitage and Sam Collett reporting to James Crossley, Head of Asset Management Distribution and Jayne Rogers, Chief Distribution Officer for Rathbones Group, Steve joins as Head of Strategic Partnerships and Regional Sales (RAM), and Sam Collett as Head of London and Global Financial Institutions. Both will co-lead the UK wholesale team, heading regional and London discretionary sales, respectively. Tom Hobbs will be based in Bristol and report into Steve Armitage.
Prior to joining RAM, Steve spent 14 years at Columbia Threadneedle Investments, where he was most recently Co-Head UK Distribution and was a member of the EMEA Distribution Senior Leadership Team. He previously held the roles of Head of Advisory & Strategic Partners and Director, Third Party Distribution at the company. Before this he was Sales Director, Strategic Partners at F&C Investments and spent several years at Barclays Stockbrokers.
Sam has been appointed Head of London and Global Financial Institutions. Before this he was Director, Business Development at Franklin Templeton, for seven years, with responsibility for establishing and maintaining relationships across multi-managers, global financial institutions, private banks, family offices, DFMs and advisory clients. He also spent seven years at Hermes Fund Managers in wholesale business development in the UK and Channel Islands.
Tom joins as Business Development Director – West. He was previously Regional Head of Business Development at Vanguard Asset Management, responsible for growing and developing long-term relationships with regional financial planning, wealth management and discretionary fund managers in the Southwest region and Wales. Prior to this he spent four years as an international investment adviser for Barclays Wealth International (Dubai) and before that as an international wealth manager for HSBC International (Dubai). He spent three years as Senior Premier Manager Independent Financial Adviser for HSBC UK and was an IFA Broker Consultant for AXA (UK).
