UK CMA looking into EDF deal with General Electric

The UK’s competition regulator is looking into whether the acquisition by ร‰lectricitรฉ de France of General Electric’s nuclear steam power business could lead to competition concerns.
The Competition and Markets Authority has called for feedback from interested parties on the potential impact of the deal in the UK, a preliminary step before a formal investigation.

Last year, state-owned EDF said it wanted to buy a local nuclear turbine unit from General Electric, as France pushed for multi-billion investments into new reactors.
