Wednesday preview: US ADP jobs report in focus

by | Aug 2, 2023

(Sharecast News) – The economic and corporate calendar in the middle of the week was sparse in all geographies.
However, at 1315 BST consultancy ADP was scheduled to release its tally of private sector hiring for the month of July.

Consensus was for a slowdown from the 497,000 pace observed in June to 188,000.

Nonetheless, while the report often elicited a reaction in financial markets, its track record in helping to predict the official non-farm payrolls report that was published two days later was lacklustre at best.
