(Sharecast News) – Financial markets’ focus over the coming week was expected to be on consumer price data due out in UK, US and euro area.
Corporate earnings would also be in focus, not least as the second quarter reporting season in the US swung into full steam.
On Wednesday, the Office for National Statistics was expected to announce that the annual rate of increase slipped from 8.7% for May to 8.2% in June.
Core CPI however was steen steady at 7.1% year-on-year.
A final reading for Euro area CPI was also scheduled for release in the middle of the week.
And on Friday, reports were due out for UK consumer confidence, retail sales and public sector net borrowing.
Stateside, the key days on the economic front would be Tuesday and Thursday.
The former session would bring with it the June retail sales report, while the latter would see the release of weekly jobless claims data, the Philly Fed’s closely followed regional factory sector gauge and figures on existing home sales in June.
Investors would also be scrutinising a barrage of economic activity indicator due out in China, on Monday, covering the month of June.
