Investors’ attention over the coming week will be on the conflict in Ukraine as they try to gauge the medium-term fallout.
Against that backdrop, a raft of top US central bank officials are due to make appearances over the course of the week and their remarks will be parsed for any sign of a shift in their thinking.
Key in that regard may be Federal Reserve chairman, Jerome Powell’s, speech on Wednesday before the US House of Representatives’ Financial Services Committee.
US non-farm payrolls figures are also due out, on Friday.
European Central Bank chief, Christine Lagarde, will also take to the podium over the course of the coming week, on Monday and Tuesday.
A preliminary reading on euro area consumer price inflation in February, on Wednesday, may be the key piece of economic data out during the week in the Eurozone.
On home shores, Tuesday will bring with it consumer credit and mortgage lending figures for January.
In Asia, Tuesday will bring with it the results of two key surveys on Chinese manufacturing sector activity.
Rate-setters Down Under will meet to decide on monetary policy on the same day.
