FTSE 100 movers: Glencore gains; Whitbread weaker

by | Nov 23, 2022

London’s FTSE 100 was up 0.2% at 7,464.35 in afternoon trade on Wednesday.
Glencore rose as it agreed amended terms on the sale of its Australia CSA copper mine. The shares were also lifted by an upgrade to ‘outperform’ by Bernstein.

SSE was in the red even as RBC Capital Markets upgraded the stock to ‘outperform’ from ‘sector perform’.

“We now have clarity on windfall taxes, and think investors should now refocus on SSE’s attractive business mix and long-term growth prospects aligned to the energy transition,” it said.

Premier Inn owner Whitbread fell after JPMorgan cut its price target on the shares.
